How the Recycling Process Works

Once your device arrives at our processing facility, it goes through a secure and environmentally responsible recycling workflow:

Secure Intake

Each package is logged and sorted to ensure accurate, trackable processing. If a device is still powered on, our team attempts to wipe it before recycling.

Note: Devices do NOT need to function for us to recycle them.

Clear Your Personal Data

Although every device is fully destroyed during our secure electronics shredding process, we recommend clearing any personal information to help protect your privacy and ensure you don’t lose anything important.

Recommended Steps Before Mailing:

  • Back up any data you want to keep
  • Sign out of all accounts (Apple ID, Google, Samsung, Microsoft, etc.)
  • Turn off any activation or security locks (Find My iPhone, Find My Device, etc.)
  • Perform a factory reset if the device powers on
  • Remove SIM cards, SD cards, or external storage
  • Remove any attached accessories or chargers

If your device won’t turn on or you can’t reset it, that’s okay — it will still be completely destroyed through our industrial grinding process.
